The benevolent nature of the organization, the importance of its membership and the extensiveness of the territory covered by the Order require a structure which is effective, strong, efficient and in constant evolution. The State Council is composed of two (2) delegates from each of Quebec's Councils and an elected State Executive, including of the Past State Deputy and the State Chaplain. Members also include: District Deputies, and Past State Deputies, who, however, do not have the right to vote. At the annual general meeting of the State Council, delegates elect five (5) Officers who, with the Past State Deputy and the State Chaplain, form the State Executive. Quebec is divided into 16 regions. Each region having a regional director who coordonates Columbian programs. The 16 regions are further divided into 115 Districts, each under the responsibility of a District Deputy appointed by the State Deputy. These appointments are ratified by the Supreme Knight. Local Councils currently number 545, and form the base of the Quebec Order. The proper functioning of each of these Councils is the particular responsibility of the Grand Knight, members of the Executive and those responsible for the various committees. |
